Who are bubbleHUB?
bubbleHUB is the brain child of two St. Albans school dads who became friends.
CoFounders, Benn & Harry have both built businesses locally and further afield. Both live in St Albans with their families and have strong ties with the local area.
Benn explains the story:
“We were both looking for a space in St Albans where we could feel inspired. We knew that wasn’t home, nor was it London or a coffee shop in town, instead we wanted to find a place where like-minded people – entrepreneurs, professionals, creatives (generally people ‘with a purpose’ doing interesting things) – could spend time and collaborate. It would also be a place we could call a ‘Home’ for our businesses. But we couldn’t find anywhere to fit the bill. Through conversations with others we realised we were not alone in our quest.”
“Our first challenge was finding the right building. This in itself was not easy as we were looking for something that didn’t yet exist, so it was very much a blank canvas!”
“It was vital for us to find a property with character and that was in a great location. Call it good fortune, or call it destiny, but the ‘Old Pumphouse’ came up for sale and we were lucky enough to secure it late 2018. To say that we have learned a huge amount turning a historic building into our vision would be rather understating the experience!
The trick was to find great people to help us with the renovation, restoration and design of what has been a truly passionate project.
We have created a space that we believe should:
Be an aspirational place – where people WANT to be and are proud to call their ‘work space’
Feels like a homely community but fulfils a function too – a blend between a CoWorking space and a members’ club
Offer areas for flexibility and differing working practices
Be an environment where business can truly be undertaken and achieved
Facilitate a creative mindset and way of working
Our members already include authors, illustrators, composers, entrepreneurs, film producers, business owners, professionals & of course us; the CoFounders.
We hope to find more interesting people that feel passionate about what they do, where they work and what their workspace represents for them.
